Ubuntu (noun)
I am because we are
Being teachable means having the humility to admit you don’t know everything, the courage to ask for help, and the willingness to grow—especially when it’s uncomfortable or unfamiliar. Ubuntu is a Southern African philosophy that reminds us we’re only human through our relationships with others. It’s not about charity—it’s about community. It’s about strength born from collaboration, dignity, and mutual support. Every person carries worth—not just potential. And while we may walk our own paths, there’s power in knowing we don’t have to build everything alone.

Albert & Wick’s is rooted in this belief. We’re creating mobile and brick-and-mortar spaces where dignity, skills, and purpose are forged through hands-on experience and shared effort—especially for those who’ve been underestimated, misdiagnosed, or misunderstood. Named after two quiet but capable craftsmen—Albert and Wick—the project honors their history of grit, family, and quiet entrepreneurship. We’re not here to fix people. We’re here to offer them a place to build, grow, and belong. No lectures. No cubicles. Just projects, mentorship, and momentum.

We’re looking for people who are ready to try again. Whether you’re just getting started or starting over, if you’ve ever felt like the system wasn’t built for you, you might be right. Our starter classrooms are hands-on and welcoming. You’ll be invited into shops, not offices—into teams, not rows of desks. And once you’ve found your footing, we’ll take you into live job site classrooms where learning happens in real time, with real tools and real people. This isn’t just about skill-building. It’s about rebuilding confidence, reclaiming dignity, and creating a future you can shape with your own hands.
